Karen Walize Obituary

Karen L. Walize, 66, of Watsontown, died on Sunday, April 14, 2024 at her home.

Born September 4, 1957 in Lewisburg, she was a daughter of the late Richard and Patricia (Nunn) Muffly. On September 15, 1979 she married the former David Walize, who preceded her in death April 12, 2023. Together they celebrated 43 years of marriage.

Karen was a 1975 graduate of Milton High School. She graduated from Central Penn Business School, Harrisburg with a degree in court reporting.

She worked as a secretary for Davis, Davis and Kaar, Milton for many years. Most recently, Karen worked as a customer service representative for the former Grizzly Industrial, Inc.

Karen was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, now Milton Lutheran Church. Karen was also a member of the Watsontown Chapter #282 Order of the Eastern Star and enjoyed helping her husband with the Watsontown Lions Club.

She was very skilled at crocheting and needlework, often making various pieces of clothing for family and friends.

Karen was a season ticket holder for Penn State Football and enjoyed many trips to the games.

Most importantly, she loved her family and spending time with them.

Surviving are two sisters, Greta Weber, of Maryland and Karla Bingaman, of Milton; two nephews, Jason and Jacob Derr; one niece, Miranda Bingaman and five great-nieces and nephews, Alexis, Kolbie, Stella, Sophia and Madison.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 20 at Grenoble Funeral Home & Crematory, 308 Main St., Watsontown with the Rev. James R. Ritter, officiating. An Order of the Eastern Star service will be held prior to the service.

Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, New Columbia.
