A. Larry Gruver, 83, of Unityville, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at WeCare at Sycamore, Montoursville.
Born May 1, 1941, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Albert and Geraldine (Worthington) Gruver. On June 17, 1962 he married the former Jeanne Ditzler, who survives. Together they celebrated 62 years of marriage.
Larry was a 1959 graduate of Muncy High School. He owned and operated Larry’s Market, working as a meat cutter for over 10 years, with locations in Lairdsville and Hughesville. Larry was dedicated to his job putting in long hours to be available for his customers. In 1980, Larry and his wife relocated to California, where he worked as a meat cutter for the former Fedco, until retiring and moving back to Unityville in 2019.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Todd Gruver, of Unityville; three daughters, Christie Wright and Jade Mounts, of California and Crystal Gruver, of Nevada; one sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Dale Davenport, of Williamsport; two granddaughters, Cassy and Katrina; eight great-grandchildren; and two nephews, Matt and Kevin.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Timothy W. Gruver, earlier this year.
As per his wishes there will be no services.
