Albert Warren Lupold, Sr.

August 10, 1926 — March 8, 2015

Albert Warren Lupold, Sr., 88, of Muncy, died Sunday, March 8 at the Muncy Valley Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit, surrounded by his loving family.

Born August 10, 1926 in Liberty, he was a son of the late William and Pearl (Sullivan) Lupold.  On July 19, 1947 he married the former Lucille Guinter, who survives.  Together they celebrated 67 years of marriage.

He served honorably in the United States Navy during WWII stationed in the pacific theatre.

Albert drove truck for 40 years with the former Follmer Trucking, now North Penn Transfer.  Following retirement, he worked security for Muncy Area School District events.

He was a member of Pennsdale Trinity United Methodist Church, White Sand Spring Hunting Club, the Edward J. Smith Post 3428 V.F.W., Muncy and a life member of the Roland Ritter American Legion Post 268, Muncy

Albert loved serving his community through the Keystone Hook & Ladder Co., Muncy.  He joined the company in 1964 and was later named a life member.  He served as an assistant chief, with the fire police and performed various other tasks.

He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather.  His family was his life, always putting them before himself.  Albert enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.  He loved to cook for the fire company events as well as his hunting club in deer season.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Dave Balliet and Cathy and Butch Dauberman, all of Muncy; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Albert W. Lupold, Jr., of Pennsdale and Tim and Amy Lupold, of Muncy; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers, Floyd, Kenny and Roy Lupold; and two sisters, Ethel McGreary and Isabelle Metzger.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, where the funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, with his minister, Pastor Kevin St. Martin, officiating.

Burial with full military honors will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy.
