Alecia M. Curley-Catherman

December 15, 1971 — February 3, 2014

Alicia M. Curley-Catherman, 42, of 938 White Hall Rd., Danville, was taken by angels into Heaven, Monday, February 3, 2014 at Jeanes Hospital, Philadelphia, after a courageous fight with Leukemia.

She was born December 15, 1971 in Williamsport, a daughter of Ronald and Susan (Koch) Curley. On October 18, 1997 she married Timothy G. Catherman, who survives. Together they celebrated 16 years of marriage.

She was of the Christian faith.

Alicia was a 1990 graduate of Hughesville High School and a 1994 graduate of Bloomsburg University, where she received her degree in Art History and Journalism.

She worked as a secretary, formerly at West Branch Rental, Lewisburg, the Standard-Journal Newspaper, Milton and the Daily Item Newspaper, Sunbury. Most recently she worked at Geisinger, Danville.

Alicia was a member of the Exchange Pool, where she was on the board and a former member of the Warrior Run Woman’s Club.

She enjoyed reading, visiting her sister at the beach and planting flowers, especially pansies and tulips. Alicia loved penguins and collecting angels.

Surviving in addition to her husband and parents are a son, Tyler R. Curley, of Danville; a daughter, Isabella H. Catherman, of Danville; a sister and brother-in-law, Ryan L. and Justin Taylor, of Wilmington, NC; a father-in-law and mother-in-law, Roger and Donna Catherman, of Selinsgrove; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Peggy and Peter Jarvis, of Barto; three nieces, one nephew, several aunts, uncles and cousins; and two beloved dogs, Sassy and Maizy.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Sterling and Margaret Koch and her paternal grandparents, Elmer and Ann Curley.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Christ Community Church, 3939 Park Rd., Selinsgrove, where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. with the church pastor, the Rev. Randall G. Bennett, Jr., officiating.

Burial will follow in Shreiner’s Cemetery, Shamokin Dam.

The family will provide the flowers and suggest contributions be made to either the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Donor Services, P. O. Box 4072, Pittsfield, MA 01202, the Exchange Pool, c/o Leslie Machuski, 6 School House Lane, Turbotville, PA 17772 or to Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, PA 17756 to help defray funeral expenses.
