Alice R. Hellyer

Alice R. Hellyer, 98, of Lewisburg, formerly of New Jersey, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at Riverwoods, Lewisburg.

Born December 14, 1920 in Princeton, NJ, she was the daughter of the late George B. Sr. and Emmie (Andersson) Rollings. She was married to her beloved husband John “Jack” C. Hellyer for nearly 76 years.

Alice was a graduate of Princeton High School and the secretarial program of Rider College. In her younger years, she was employed by Audience Research, which eventually became the Gallop Corporation. Alice served as assistant treasurer and worked closely with George Gallop. She spent most of her years as a homemaker, caring for her family.

Alice loved to ice skate. She and Jack traveled all around the country, took day trips to Atlantic City, NJ with friends and cheered for Princeton University football and basketball for years.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Judith (James) Nafzinger, of Palm Harbor, FL and Patricia (Hood) Johnston, of Lewisburg; four granddaughters, Jaclyn, Kristi, Kendra and Kerri; two great-grandchildren, Tessa and Luke; two nephews and one niece.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, George.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

The family suggests contributions in Alice’s name be made to a charity of one’s choice.

The family is being assisted by Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, South Second and St. Louis Streets, Lewisburg.
