Alice A. Keefer

Alice A. Keefer, 76, of Muncy, died Sunday, November 26, 2023 at Mountain View, Coal Township.

Born December 13, 1946 in Staten Island, NY, she was a daughter of the late Frank McCarthy and Alice Sternielo. On August 19, 2008, she married Dennis L. Keefer, who survives. Together they celebrated 15 years of marriage.

Alice was raised in Staten Island, graduating from Catholic school. She took a job as a teller at the Ingersoll Rand Bank, Staten Island, and worked there until she got married.

Alice was employed at the former Gee-Bee’s and Value City, Muncy for 17 years, unloading trucks and standing in for cashiers before her health caused her to stop working.

She attended Friends Church, Hughesville.

Alice enjoyed traveling around Pennsylvania, off the beaten path with her husband, visiting historical places and going to crafts shows.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Pamela Bortz, of Mesa, AZ and James Bortz, of Williamsport; one brother and sister-in-law, James and Doris McCarthy, of Everett, WA; four grandchildren, Taylor Klug and her husband, Mason, of AZ, Michael Bortz, of Elysburg, Timothy Bortz, of Williamsport and Damian Bortz; and one great-granddaughter, Megan Klug.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Kenneth Bortz.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
