Angelo Robert Distefano

Angelo Robert DiStefano, of Lewisburg, PA died Saturday, November 6, 2021 of the COVID-19 virus at Buffalo Valley Nursing Facility, Lewisburg.

He was born April 10, 1924 in Camden, NJ, of the late Dominic and Caroline (DePasquale) DiStefano.  He is survived by wife of 68 years, Rose (DiBerardino) and was predeceased by brother, Carmen DiStefano and sister, Theresa Pitoscia.

Following graduation at Camden Catholic High School (1942), Angelo served honorably in the United States Army as a Master Sergeant during World War II, including time spent in Pearl Harbor.  As a civilian, he worked initially in Payroll and Sales Administration before switching careers to a Sales Associate at JCPenney Co.

He was known for his great kindness, sense of humor, dedication to his work, and commitment to his family. He was an avid Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles fan and known affectionately as “Minnesota” by friends in the Riverwoods Community as a skilled billiards player. He was a devout member of the Catholic Church, starting with early years as an altar boy and most recently, regular mass at Sacred Heart Church in Lewisburg.

Surviving in addition to his wife are daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Jim Moore, of Punta Gorda, FL; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Ann DiStefano, of Lewisburg; grandchildren, Barry Vogtman and Sandra Weist, and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on November 20 at Sacred Heart Church, 814 St. Louis Street, Lewisburg.
