Anita Wenzel, 77, of Muncy, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2019, at the Muncy Valley Hospital.
She was born October 12, 1941 in Princeton, Newfoundland, Canada. She was a daughter of the late Llewellyn and Francis Prince. On December 21, 1963 she married David R. Wenzel. They celebrated 55 years of marriage.
Anita was a member of the Muncy Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on August 25, 1956. Anita and Dave enjoyed many years of volunteer work helping to build Kingdom Halls in Central America, South America and Africa. She enjoyed sharing comfort from the Bible with those in the community.
She especially loved her role as “Nana” to family and friends. She made friends everywhere she went due to her kind and compassionate heart.
She will be greatly missed and survived by her husband, David R. Wenzel; a son and his wife Llew and Tracy Wenzel; a daughter and her husband Rebecca and Ken Kurth, all of Muncy; two grandsons, Tyler and his wife Nancy Wenzel of Costa Rica; Brandon Wenzel of Warwick, New York; a brother and his wife Hayward and Kay Prince of Winnipeg, Manitoba; a sister and her husband Sharon and Robert Thorne, Portugal Cove, Newfoundland, Canada. Also surviving her are many Canadian nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Leaman Prince.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2325 Route 405 Hwy, Muncy, with Ken Kurth officiating.
