Arthur R. Heiges

Arthur R. Heiges, 65, of 27 1/2 S. Main St., Muncy, died Monday, December 1, 2014 at the Muncy Valley Hospital.

Born January 30, 1949 in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Donald and Edna (Adams) Heiges. On May 13, 1978, he married the former, Mildred J. Munns, who survives. Together they celebrated 36 years of marriage.

Arthur was a 1966 graduate of Montgomery High School. He worked as an operational manager for Milton Transportation for nearly 20 years, retiring in January 2014.

Arthur was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Muncy.

In his spare time, he enjoyed bowling, golfing and playing poker.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Thad and Kathleen Heiges, of Ft. Drum, NY and Dick “Rockey” Heiges, of Muncy; two brothers and one sister-in-law, George Heiges, of Milton and John “Jack” and Marsha Heiges, of WV; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Mary and Phillip Weber, of White Deer and Helen “Jakie” Fisher, of Montandon; and two grandchildren, Emily and Evan Heiges, of Ft. Drum, NY.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Donald Heiges.

In keeping with Arthur’s wishes there will be no services.

The family suggests memorial contributions in Arthur’s name be made to the American Cancer Society, Lycoming County Unit, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701 for research.

The family is being assisted by Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy.
