Barbara J. Michael

Barbara J. Michael, 75, of Danville, died Monday, December 11, 2023 at Grandview Nursing and Rehab Center.

She was born September 10, 1948 in Muncy, a daughter of the late John E. and Harriet A. (Bower) Day.

Barbara was a 1966 graduate of Danville High School. She began her career as a nursing assistant at the Danville State Hospital, before joining the Home Health Agency of Bloomsburg. Barbara was also employed by Geisinger in Danville for 13 years and retired from the Holy Family Convent and Infirmary, Danville.

She was of Christian faith.

Barbara enjoyed reading, especially poetry and People magazine. She was fond of watching General Hospital. Barbara loved road trips with her daughter and grandchildren, especially to concerts. Among her favorites were Elvis, Kid Rock and Alabama. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.

Surviving are a son, Christopher Dickinson, of Danville; a daughter, Belinda Perez, of Danville; a sister, Judy (Wayne) Phillips, of Watsontown; niece, Stacey Phillips; nephews, Travis and Wesley Phillips; and grandchildren, Billy Dickinson, Jason Bird, Christopher Troutman, Brooke, Jansen, Paige and Keegan McManus, Ana Perez, Courtney Drumheller (Brittany Kipple), Jackie Drumheller and Elijah Brown.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Edward Dickinson, second husband, Gary Michael; and a brother in infancy.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, December 15, 2023 at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, where the funeral will be held at 11a.m., with the Rev. Stanley Bower, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Muncy Cemetery.
