Beatrice R. "Bea" Kahler

Beatrice R. “Bea” Kahler, 94, of Lewisburg, died Saturday November 21, 2015 at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, Lewisburg.

She was born December 11, 1920 in Balls Mills, a daughter of the late John Raymond and Helen Esther (Rathmall) Lundy.  In 1929 after her parents died, Bea lived at the former Evangelical United Brethren orphanage with her four sisters and two brothers.  On March 1, 1946 she married Kenneth L. Kahler, with whom she shared 46 years of marriage until his death on November 10, 1992.  After Kenneth’s death, Bea moved to the cottages at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village.

Bea was a 1939 graduate of Lewisburg High School.  Early in life, she worked at the former Sylvania, Montoursville, and later at the former L.L. Stearns, Williamsport.

She was a former member of the Fairlawn Community Church, Cogan Station, and the Lewisburg Alliance Church.

Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Phil Kyllonen, of Lewisburg; one brother, John Lundy; three sisters, Martha Steinback, Helen Smith and Esther Gleckner; two grandchildren, Todd A. Kyllonen and his wife, Natalie, of Ashburn, VA and Chad Kyllonen and his wife, Christina, of Elizabethtown; and four great-grandchildren, Ethan, Simon, Aubrie and Ruby.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, Annie McCarty and Alice Marie Butterworth; and one brother, William Lundy.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to Noon Tuesday at Winfield Baptist Church, 330 State Route 304, Winfield, where a Funeral Service will be held at Noon with Pastor Corey Mitchell, officiating, assisted by Dave Kyllonen.

Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy.

The family is being assisted by Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 106 S. Second St., Lewisburg.
