Bernice I. Leiser, 92, of Dewart, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at her home.
Born January 10, 1922 in New Columbia, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Tillie (Poust) Koch. On January 11, 1940 she married William C. Leiser. Together they celebrated 51 years of marriage, until his death December 10, 1991.
Bernice was a graduate of Milton High School.
She worked as a housewife raising her children on the family farm.
Bernice was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church (Delaware Run) where she was very active with many events over the years. She was also a member of the McEwensville Garden Club.
Bernice enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, William II and Shirley Leiser, of Murfreesboro, TN and Samuel and Ruth Ann Leiser, of Watsontown; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathryn and Kenneth Houser, of Orlando, FL and Rose Ann Williams, of Savannah, GA; eight grandchildren, Danny Houser, Diana Burrows, Kimberly Smith, Matthew Williams, Andrie Rovenolt, William Leiser III, Kari Pusey and Jake Leiser; 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, July 14 at St. John’s Lutheran Church (Delaware Run), 6590 Musser Lane, Watsontown, where the funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. with her minister, Pastor Faron Johnson, officiating
Burial will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery.
The family will provide the flowers and suggests contributions in Bernice’s name be made to either St. John’s Lutheran Church (Delaware Run), 6590 Musser Lane, Watsontown, PA 17777 or Evangelical Hospice, One Hospital Drive, Lewisburg, PA 17837.
The family is being assisted by Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 308 Main St., Watsontown.
