Betty J. Newton, 63, of New Columbia, went to be with the Lord Wednesday April 12, 2023 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born March 19, 1960 in Jersey City, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Warren and Marjorie (Empet) Tripp. On August 10, 2001 she married Lyman “Butch” Newton, who survives. Together they celebrated 21 years of marriage.
Betty was a 1978 graduate of Milton High School. She worked as a customer service representative for Service Electric, Northumberland for 45 years.
She attended Revival Tabernacle, Watsontown.
Betty loved embroidering and crafting and had a booth at the Street of Shops where she would sell items she made.
She enjoyed fishing and going for rides on ATVs. Betty also enjoyed traveling with her husband and family.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are her children, Craig Seese, of Lewisburg, Stacey (Samantha) Seese, of North Bend, Lenny Newton, of Montoursville and JoAnn Kinney, of Montoursville; five siblings, her twin sister, Barbara Delcamp and Nadine Gavaletz, both of Mifflinburg, Claudia Pearce, of Lewisburg, Joyce (Don) Davis, of Shippensburg and Charles (Esther) Delzer, of MD; three grandchildren, Delrae Kinney and Ezra and Gabe Newton and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Dale Seese, sister, Martha Shuman and brother-in-law, Elwood Delcamp.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 19 in Highland Cemetery, New Columbia with her pastor, the Rev. James R. Bond, officiating.
The family will provide the flowers and suggests contributions in Betty’s name be made to the Ronald McDonald House of Danville, 24 Trembulak Way, Danville, PA 17821 or online at rmhdanville.org/donations
The family is being assisted by Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, South Second and St. Louis streets, Lewisburg.
