Beverly A. Wetzel, 86, of Lewisburg, passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born July 1, 1931 in Lewisburg, a daughter of the late Fred and Clara (Harmon) Beaver.  On November 10, 1951, she married Gordon T. Wetzel and they celebrated 46 years of marriage before his death on December 17, 1997.

Beverly was a 1949 graduate of Lewisburg Area High School.

She was employed as a bookkeeper for B.O. Dauberts and as a secretary and tax collector for the Lewisburg Borough.

Beverly was a member of Christ’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lewisburg.

She enjoyed all sports, especially anything Penn State. Beverly also enjoyed playing games and cards with her family and friends.

Beverly loved spending time at the beach with her family and recently returned from a vacation at Bethany Beach.

Most importantly, she cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Gregg and Debby Wetzel, of Lewisburg; two daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Dale Gessner, of Lewisburg and Lori and Doug Walter, of Harrisburg; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two brothers, Douglas and Charles Beaver.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Christ’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 100 S. Third St., Lewisburg, where a memorial service will be held at 11 with Pastor Dale Biesecker, officiating.

Burial will follow in Lewisburg Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial contributions in Beverly’s name be made to either the Evangelical Hospice, 1 Hospital Drive Lewisburg, PA 17837 or Christ’s Evangelical Church, 100 S. Third St. Lewisburg, PA 17837.

The family is being assisted by Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 106 S. Second St., Lewisburg.
