Beverly D. “Peach” Bardo, 92, of Muncy, died Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at Chandler Hall, Newtown.
Born July 14, 1932 in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Donald and Rhea (Guinter) Bair. On July 21, 1950 she married Emerson D. “JR” Bardo, Jr. Together they celebrated 62 years of marriage before his death July 24, 2012.
Peach was a 1950 graduate of Muncy High School. She worked as a rural postal carrier in the Muncy area for many years.
Peach was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Muncy. She served as a Sunday school teacher and on the administrative council and was a member of the choir.
Peach was also a member of the Muncy Woman’s Club, the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and played cards in two pinochle clubs until she was 89.
She enjoyed traveling and knitting. Most of all, she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. David and Carol Bardo, of Antigo, WI; a daughter, Robin Bardo, of Yardley; two sisters, Connie Sommers and Linda Miller; nine grandchildren, Brett (Hilde) Bardo, Scott (Cindy) Bardo, Drew (Samantha) Wolfe, Scott (Holly) Wolfe, Hannah (Travis) Krueger, Dominick (Melissa) Mack, Anthony Mack, Tara Jo (Dan) Tamburello and Austin (Annie) Quinn; and 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Holli Jo Quinn and two sisters, Louise Wertman and Mildred Nuss.
A graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday, August 9, 2024 at the Muncy Cemetery, 204 E. Penn St., Muncy, with Pastor Kathy Burkhart, officiating.
The family will provide the flowers and suggests contributions in Peach’s name be made to the First United Methodist Church, for the Baby Rose Fund, and mail to 602 S. Market St., Muncy, PA 17756.
