Carl E. Pick

Carl E. Pick, 74, a longtime resident of Watsontown, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.

He was born January 11, 1944 in Millmont, a son of the late George and Sarah (DeLong) Pick.  On December 24, 1966 he married the former Sandra Erdley, who survives. Together they celebrated 52 years of marriage.

Carl was a 1962 graduate of Mifflinburg High School.  He served honorably in the United States Army Reserves.  Carl worked for 42 years at the former Pennsylvania House Furniture, Lewisburg, until their closing.

He was a member of Watsontown United Methodist Church, and the Clyde F. Mowrer American Legion Post 323, Watsontown.

Carl was passionate about gardening and an avid Penn State fan.  He loved spending time with his family and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.  Earlier in life, he helped coach Watsontown Little League and also served as the league president.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons and daughters-in-law, Brian and Melinda Pick, and Scott and Chrisie Pick, all of Watsontown; one brother and sister-in-law, James and Wanda Pick, of Millmont; two sisters, Miriam Hilkert, of Lewisburg and Judith Paynter, of Milton; and four grandchildren, Kassandra, Andrew, Tyler and Marissa Pick.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Donald Pick and one in infancy; and two sisters, Mary Ellen Goss and Patricia Snyder; and four brothers-in-law, Harold Erdley, Walter Paynter, John Snyder and Robert Goss.

Friends will be received from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Watsontown Alliance Church, 1165 Eighth Street Drive, Watsontown where a Memorial Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Scott Bartholomew, officiating.

Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Lincoln Chapel Cemetery, Laurelton.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions in Carl’s memory be made to a charity of one’s choice.
