Carol A. Metzger

November 11, 1941 — September 8, 2017

Carol A. Metzger, 75, of Lewisburg, enjoyed life to the very fullest until her passing Friday, September 8, 2017.

She was born November 11, 1941 in Williamsport, the daughter of the late John W. and Catherine L. (Mitsdarfer) Sinclair. She was the wife and partner of William J. Metzger, Sr. for over 53 years.

Carol was a graduate of St. Joseph High School, Williamsport and St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing. Scranton. She worked as a geriatric nurse at the former Williams Nursing Home, Williamsport. For 15 years Carol volunteered at RiverWoods, where she assisted families experiencing the death of a loved one. She also volunteered with the American Red Cross during their blood drives.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Lewisburg. In 1974 Carol and her husband founded C.V.C. Contractors, Inc. of Lewisburg offering general and mechanical construction projects within a 100 mile radius of Lewisburg. In 1999, their son, William Metzger, Jr., and his wife, Annette, acquired the business which continues today.

Most importantly, Carol loved spending time with her family.

Surviving in addition to her husband are a son and daughter-in-law, William Jr. and Annette Metzger, of Winfield, and their children Logan and Rachel; and a daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Joe Jaigobind, of New York City, NY and Lewisburg and their daughters, Isabella and Carolina.

A Memorial Mass will be held at noon on Saturday, September 16, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 41 S. Eighth St., Lewisburg, with her pastor, the Father Mark Wilke, officiating.

As Carol always said, “Remember me with smiles and laughter, for that is what I will remember you all but if you can only remember me with tears, then don’t remember me at all.” The family invites friends to celebrate Carol’s life at a reception following the service at 2 p.m. at RiverWoods, in the Ridge Crest dining room.

Private interment will be held in the Lewisburg Cemetery.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to Evangelical Hospice, 1 Hospital Dr., Lewisburg, PA 17837.

The family is being assisted by the Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, South Second and St. Louis Streets, Lewisburg.
