Carson D. Wagner

Carson D. Wagner, 94, of Watsontown, died Monday, April 22, 2019 at Watsontown Health and Rehab Center.

He was born June 24, 1924 in Winfield, a son of the late Luther and Mary (Hollenbach) Wagner.  On January 1, 1944, he married the former Eleanor Sherwood and together they celebrated 75 years of marriage.

Carson served honorably in the United States Army during World War II.  He retired from the former American Home Foods, now ConAgra, Milton. Following retirement, Carson owned and operated the former Wagner’s Golf Gas Station, Montgomery.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Watsontown.

Carson was a life member of the Watsontown Masonic Lodge #401.

In his spare time, Carson loved welding and working on cars with his friends.

Surviving in addition to his wife are one daughter and son-in-law, Anna and Dana Poust, of Jersey Shore; one brother, Richard Wagner; six grandchildren, Walter, Carson, Dale and Timothy Wagner, Christina Sims and Merrill Shamblen and several great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one son, Carson E. Wagner.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 308 Main Street, Watsontown where a Masonic Service will be held at 9:45 a.m. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. with his pastor, the Rev. Paul A. Smith, officiating.

Burial with full military honors will be held in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery.

The family welcomes flowers, however, if desired contributions in Carson’s name be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148 or to the Alzheimer’s Association, online at www.alz.org.
