Charles "Ed" Bucher, Jr., 77, of Watsontown, passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2015, at the Gatehouse, Williamsport.
Born June 16, 1937 in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Charles Edward Sr. and Lera Eileen (Tyson) Bucher. On May 28, 2014 he married Rick O. Burt on their 32nd anniversary with each other.
Ed graduated from Milton High School and attended both Gettysburg Seminary and Bloomsburg University. He worked for many years as an accountant for Sunset Recording Studios, Hollywood, CA.
He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Milton.
Ed loved the outdoors, especially tenting and camping on Assateauge Island, MD. He was an excellent cook and loved to entertain friends when living in California. He also enjoyed counted cross-stitch, crocheting, antiques and going to flea markets. Ed was very fond of animals, especially his 13 year old poodle, Coco.
Surviving in addition to his husband are two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Pat Bucher and Frank and Pam Bucher, all of Lewisburg; one nephew, Dominick; two nieces, Elizabeth and Jennifer; one great-niece, Savannah and one great-nephew, Hunter.
Friends will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 308 Main St., Watsontown, where a Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. with his pastor, Rev. Cheryl Berner, officiating.
Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
On January 24, 1993, Ed had a heart transplant at the University of Pittsburg Presbyterian Hospital and because of this gracious gift, the family suggests contributions in Ed's name be made to either the American Heart Association, online at www.donatenow.heart.org or the Gift of Life Donor Program, online at www.donors1.org/about-us/contribute.
The family would also like to thank Bayada Home Health Care for their excellent care and support, especially Victoria Young and Bernie Fox.
