Cheryl I. Miller,78, of Muncy, died Thursday, September 26, 2024 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born August 28, 1946 in Elkland, she was a daughter of the late Oscar J. and Waneda (Hallock) Oberther Jr. She and her husband, Donald L. Miller were married on December 26, 1968. Together they celebrated 54 years of marriage before his death Apr. 6, 2023.
Cheryl was a 1964 graduate of Elkland High School and a graduate of Williamsport Beauty School. She operated a beauty shop, Cheryl Miller’s Cut & Curl, out of her home in Muncy for over 50 years, retiring in 2022.
She was a longtime member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Muncy and a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
Cheryl was an avid tennis player and was a member of the Tri-Town Women’s Tennis League. She loved spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving are three children, Wendy Derr, of Watsontown, Mark Miller and his wife, Diane, of Picture Rocks and Matt Miller and his wife, Marne, of Huntersville, NC; a sister, Judy Clark, of Elkland; and six grandchildren, Shelby Derr, Andrew, Katie, Lily, Grace and A.J. Miller.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Oscar J. Oberther III and a stepbrother, Richard “Dick” Oberther.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, September 30, at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. with her pastor, the Rev. Ben Lander, officiating. Burial will follow in the Muncy Cemetery with lunch served at the Masonic Lodge in Muncy.
The family will provide the flowers and suggests contributions in Cheryl’s name be made to St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church.
