Chester M. Jacobs

Chester M. Jacobs, 75, of Muncy, died Friday, December 1, 2023 at UPMC Muncy.

He was born December 16, 1947 in Muncy, a son of the late Murray R. and Laura (Whitmoyer) Jacobs. On December 31, 1967 he married the former Linda Stone, who preceded him in death November 2, 2012. Together they celebrated 44 years of marriage.

Chester was a 1966 graduate of Muncy High School. He worked for the former Bryfogle’s, Muncy. Chester then worked for the Loyalsock School District, where he was a custodian for 34 years before retiring.

He was a member of the Keystone Hook & Ladder Company, Muncy, for many years.

Chester volunteered his time at the Son Light House, Muncy and earlier in life was active in the Muncy Jaycee’s.

He enjoyed fishing and yard work around his house.

Surviving a sister, Barbara Eichenlaub, of Muncy, two grandchildren, Dakota M. Burke and his wife, Ariel, of Hughesville and Brooklynn M. Burke, of Maryland; two great-grandchildren, Leo and Britton Burke and a son-in-law, Francis Burke II, of Newark, MD.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by a daughter, Darla Jacobs and brother-in-law, Daniel Eichenlaub.

Friends will be received from noon to 1 p.m.. Wednesday, December 6 at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy where the funeral will be held at 1 p.m. with minister James Girven, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Salem Cemetery.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions in Chester’s name be made to the Son Light House, 130 Carpenter St., Muncy, PA 17756.
