Connor Joseph Bell

July 7, 1992 — June 10, 2018

Connor Joseph Bell, 25, of Lewisburg, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2018 at University Medical Center, New Orleans, LA.

He was born July 7, 1992, in Lewisburg, a son of Jeffrey Bell, of Selinsgrove and Laura (Bowman) Bell, of Lewisburg.

Connor was a 2011 graduate of Lewisburg high school, where he enjoyed playing lead roles in the fall plays all four years.  He went on to obtain his bachelor’s degree in film production from Columbia College, Chicago, IL and later his master’s degree in creative writing from Roosevelt University, also in Chicago.  Connor was very accomplished and talented, also mastering the French language.

He spent his 25 short years living his life on his own terms.  Connor had a passion for movies, starting with many of the classic Disney films as a child then moving to the James Bond series, horror films, old westerns and many foreign films.  His love for music was just as strong as he enjoyed Fleetwood Mac, Johnny Winter, Savoy Brown, classic rock and more.  His gift for music was so great that he was a self-taught guitarist, often playing at local venues.

He loved to read, write and spend time with his family and many very close friends.  Connor also cared greatly for the politics in our country and worldwide, always welcoming a healthy debate.  He was very proud of his Northern Irish heritage and cared deeply about where he came from.

Connor’s future plans were to be a professor of writing, and mostly wanted to be a well-known film writer and producer, like his favorite, Quentin Tarentino.

Surviving in addition to his parents are his older brother Sean, and Sean’s fiancé, Erin; his seven month old niece, Margo; and his maestro of terror, English bulldog, Ruggero, named after Connor’s favorite Italian producer.

Connor left us while vacationing in New Orleans, studying the sights and in the company of family who supported him through every step of life.  The world is a better place because of him and a sadder place without him.  The remaining family and friends both locally and in Chicago that contributed to his happiness are endless.

A Celebration of Life service to honor Connor will be held at 1pm on Saturday, June 23 at Rooke Chapel on the campus of Bucknell University.  Officiating will be Connor’s childhood friend, Colin Savidge, pastor at Lewisburg Alliance Church.

There will be no visitation prior, but friends are welcome to greet Connor’s family following the service.

Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Orchard Hills Cemetery, Shamokin Dam.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Connor’s memory be made to the Immune Deficiency Foundation, online at www.primaryimmune.org/idf-online-donation

The family is being assisted by Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, South Second and St. Louis Streets, Lewisburg.
