Constance E. “Connie” Cammer, 99, of 270 Ridgecrest Circle Apt. 74, Lewisburg, died Tuesday September 8, 2015 at Riverwoods.
She was born July 19, 1916 in Belvedere, England, the daughter of the late Joseph T. and Louisa (Cartwright) Beardmore. On June 24, 1939 she married Charles E. Cammer, who preceded her in death in 1985.
Connie was a graduate of DeVilbiss High School in Toledo, OH. She then studied at Stautzenberger Secretarial School in Toledo. Connie retired as a secretary in 1978 from the former Trimtex, Williamsport.
She was a member of the former Calvary United Methodist and High St. United Methodist Churches, Williamsport. She was most recently a member of Beaver Memorial United Methodist Church, Lewisburg.
Following retirement, Connie stayed very active volunteering at many organizations including the Williamsport Hospital Auxiliary, Lycoming County Blind Association, Union County Visitors Center, Slifer House Museum and Riverwoods, where she was once in charge of the prayer shawl group and treasurer of the Auxiliary Group.
She was also a member and grand worthy advisor of the Rainbow Girls, Ohio Chapter and the OES Fort Industry Chapter 209.
Surviving are three daughters and one son-in-law, Judy Ann and William Ritter, of Lewisburg, Pamela Jo Tyler, of Chambersburg, and Barbara Ellen “Babs” Dorsett, of Dover; six grandchildren, Edward “Ted” Crowe, Janet Shoemaker, Don Tyler, Chrissy Aiken, Garrick Dorsett and Reneé Peters; twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
A private graveside service will be held at Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery.
The family suggests contributions in Connie’s name be made to the Riverwoods Benevolent Fund, 90 Maplewood Drive, Lewisburg, PA 17837.
The family is being assisted by Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 106 S. Second St., Lewisburg.
