Coritha A. Muckelmann, 90, of Montgomery, died on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at home with her family by her side.
She was born in Noxen, PA, on March 2, 1934, a daughter of the late Woodrow and Anna (Mullen) Lamoreaux. On April 9, 2008 she married Ronald Muckelmann, who survives.
Coritha was a 1952 graduate of Harper high school in Nanticoke and worked in the banking industry for many years, serving as a teller, manager and junior accountant.
She was a longtime member of Grace Presbyterian Church, Montgomery.
Coritha enjoyed many hobbies such as bowling, reading and playing games, especially bingo. She loved animals of all kinds and was quite fond of her cats and bird watching. Coritha also enjoyed travelling and went on many cruises through the years. Most important was her family, whom she cooked for and took care of as much as possible.
Surviving in addition to her husband are three children, Kathy Keefer and her husband, Mike of Lewistown, Donna Muckelmann and her husband, Dave Clifford of Turbotville, and John Smith and his wife, Yvette of Hillsborough, NJ; two stepchildren, Cherie Finley and her husband, Cole, of Ocala, FL, and Kelly Patterson and her husband, Anthony, of Toms River, NJ; three brothers, Woodrow Jr., Dave and Luke; two sisters, Lucille and Anita; seven grandchildren, Marshal, Kris, Katelynn, Ian, Cameron, Reilley and Jessica; and 4 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her two husbands, Lee Smith Jr. and Roy Turner; one son, Lee Smith III; one daughter, Cynthia Smith; two brothers, Dan and Don Lamoreaux; and one grandson, Michael Smith.
Friends will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 29 at Grenoble Funeral Home & Crematory, 308 Main St. Watsontown, where a funeral will be held at 7 p.m. with pastor’s Paul and Laura Smith, officiating.
A committal service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 30 in St. Mark’s Cemetery, Lewistown.
