Darla Mae Gottschall

Darla Mae Gottschall, 76, of Muncy, died Saturday, March 29, 2025 at her home.

Born December 19, 1948 in Sunbury, she was a daughter of the late Guy S. and Gladys Rothermel. On August 26, 1972 she married Kenneth L. Gottschall, who survives. Together they celebrated 52 years of marriage.

Darla was a graduate of Shikellamy High School. She enjoyed raising and caring for her family. Darla also worked for 15 years at the Geisinger clinic, Montoursville, in various positions, retiring as a receptionist.

She was a member of the Muncy Baptist Church, serving as a Sunday school teacher as well as being a leader for the AB Girls group.

Darla was fond of angels and enjoyed making crafts, knitting and crocheting, then sharing her creations with friends and family. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to her husband are a son and his fiancé, Kenneth Andrew Gottschall and Maggie Wenhold, of Muncy; a daughter, Tammy Moyer, of Lehighton; two brothers, Ronnie (Donna) Rothermel and John (Donna) Rothermel, all of Sunbury; two sisters, Renne (Dave) Bubernack, of Shamokin and Janice (John) Reeder, of Sunbury; step mother, Betty Rothermel, of Sunbury; six grandchildren, Felicia (Jeremy) Sheets, Arthur Gottschall, Clayton Gottschall, Kenneth Moyer, Alexis Moyer and Emily Moyer; and two great-grandchildren, Hazel and Linken Sheets.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, Leona Shreck and Dora Rothermel at birth.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, April 3, 2025 at the Muncy Baptist Church, 11 W. Penn St., Muncy, where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. with her pastor, the Rev. Robert Rice, officiating.

Burial will follow in Muncy Cemetery.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests contributions in Darla’s name be made to the Muncy Baptist Church, youth ministries.
