David H. Spring

January 16, 1936 — August 8, 2019

David H. Spring, 83, of Muncy, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family, following a seven year battle with cancer.


Born January 16, 1936 in Williamsport, he was the only child of the late Eugene and Helen (Getz) Spring. On Oct. 30, 1971 he married the former Eileen J. Dincher, who survives. Together they celebrated 47 years of marriage.


Dave was a graduate of Williamsport High School and attended classes at Lycoming College. He previously worked at the Rialto Theater and Glyco Chemicals. Dave worked for over 40 years as the head of the treasury department at Brodart. He retired in 2018 from the Country Cupboard, Lewisburg, after 10 years.


He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Muncy. Dave also enjoyed being a member of a weekly bowling league.


An intelligent man and well read, he never missed an episode of Jeopardy, The Chase or MASH. Known for being quiet, Dave was extremely witty. He was a fan of Penn State Football and the Steelers. Dave loved animals and had a special fondness for his cat Lucky, aka Luck Luck.


Dave always said that of all his accomplishments, his children were his greatest. Surviving in addition to his wife are five children and their spouses, Susan and Russell Glantz, of Glen Bernie, MD, Rev. Dr. Timothy and Pauline Spring, of Pittsburgh, Kathy and Elwood Morean, Jr., of Williamsport, David C. and Stacey Spring, of Muncy and Kimberly and Lee S. Winters, of Muncy; 11 grandchildren, Zachary, Rebecca, Erika, Timothy, Melissa, Mirta, Mishia, Kalina, Ava, Juda and Lee M; and four great-grandchildren.


Friends will be received from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church, 602 S. Market St., Muncy, where the funeral will be held at 11:30 with his pastor, the Rev. Richard Robinson, officiating.


Burial will follow in the Resurrection Cemetery, Montoursville.


The family welcomes flowers and however, if desired, memorial contributions be made to the First United Methodist Church, 602 S. Market St., Muncy, PA 17756.


The family is being assisted by Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy.
