David L. Walton, 95, of 3750 Rt. 220 Highway, Hughesville, died Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center.
Born September 11, 1919 in Muncy, he was a son of the late James and Elverta (Egli) Walton. On May 3, 1941, he married the former Alberta E. Houseknecht. Together they shared 72 years of marriage before her death July 3, 2013.
David was a 1937 graduate of Muncy High School. He served honorably in the U. S. Army during World War II. David worked as a purchasing agent. He began his career at Young Industries, then went to Sprout Waldron and retired from Prismo.
Surviving are three sons, Donald L. Walton and George C. (June) Walton, all of Muncy, and James B. (Sandy) Walton of New Mexico; one sister, Betty Logue, of Williamsport; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
In addition to his wife and parents he was predeceased by two daughters, Patricia A. Walton who died in 1999 and Sandra L. Bair who died in 1972; one daughter-in-law, Linda Walton; one sister, Alice Shipman; and three brothers, Alvin, Robert and Michael Walton.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, April 10, at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Robert W. Rice, pastor of Muncy Baptist Church.
Burial will follow in Muncy Cemetery.
