Dean F. Hackenberg

Dean F. Hackenberg, 86, of Lewisburg, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2016, at Riverwoods, Lewisburg.
He was born July 27, 1929, in Picture Rocks, a son of the late Harold and Jenny (Wolfe) Hackenberg. On March 3, 2001, he married the former Joyce Diefenbach. Together they celebrated 15 years of marriage.
Dean was a 1947 graduate of Lewisburg High School.
He served honorably in the United States Navy, where he worked in a VA Hospital. Dean retired after 42 years as a bus driver for SEPTA in Philadelphia.
Surviving are two sons, James and Joseph Hackenberg, both of Philadelphia; two grandchildren, Jimmy and Daniel Hackenberg and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers, Robert, Ned, and Richard Hackenberg and a daughter, Mary Hackenberg.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to noon Monday, March 14, 2016 at Dreisbach United Church of Christ, 875 Dreisbach Church Rd. Lewisburg, where the funeral will be held at Noon with the Rev. Raymond Brown, officiating.
Burial with full military honors will follow in Dreisbach Church Cemetery.
