Debra Kay “Debbie” Woodside, 72, of Muncy, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 19, 2023 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born August 1, 1951 in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late William A. and Dorothy I. (Feigles) Breneisen. On June 27, 1970 she married Robert E. “Woody” Woodside, who survives. Together they celebrated 53 years of marriage.
Debbie was a 1969 graduate of Muncy High School. Following graduation she worked as a teller at the former Williamsport National Bank, now First National Bank and the Commonwealth Bank for several years. Debbie took time off to raise and care for her family. While the children were in school, she was involved in the PTA and as a teachers’ assistant. She later returned to banking for a short time before taking a position as a receptionist at Lindsay and Hager Accountants, Pennsdale. Debbie retired from Richard Lowe P.C., Muncy to focus on her family.
She was a member of the Muncy Baptist Church.
Debbie enjoyed playing tennis and for years participated with her partner, Cheryl Burns in local competitions. She was fond of kayaking and roller blading. Most of all she loved traveling and going to the beach, especially to Wildwood, NJ.
Debbie's immense love for her children and grandchildren was a beautiful force, and she devoted her life to her family, friends and so many others. Debbie could truly light up a room and she left an imprint on anyone she encountered
Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, Todd Woodside and his wife, Alison, of Fort Mill, SC; a daughter, Brooke Woodside and her beloved, Dylan Belcourt, of Williamsport; three grandchildren, twins, Luke and Samantha Woodside and Maxwell Belcourt; and four siblings, Geraldine Barkan, of CA, Harvey Breneisen and his wife, Carrie, of Muncy, Edward Breneisen, of Hughesville and Thomas Breneisen, of Muncy.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Wilhelmina “Billie” Rose and two brothers, Donnie and Steve Breneisen.
Friends will be received from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, December 1, 2023 at the Muncy Baptist Church, 11 W. Penn St., Muncy, where the memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. with her pastor, the Rev. Robert Rice, officiating.
The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions in Debbie’s name be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital online at www.stjude.org.
