Derek J. Grill

Derek J. Grill, 61, most recently of Mifflinburg, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 15, 2024.

Born December 20, 1962 in Big Spring, TX,he was a son of the late Alan J. and Claire J. (Kale) Grill.

Derek was a graduate of State College Area High School and earned an Associate’s degree from Penn State University.  He worked for 20 years as a Golf Professional at several golf courses, including Toftrees GC and the Philadelphia Cricket Club.

He had a real passion for golf and was a member of the PGA of America. He was an avid Penn State football fan and loved listening to Bruce Springsteen.

Surviving are one daughter, Hannah Williams, of Florida; four siblings, David Grill and his wife, Lestia, of Lewisburg, Christy Kale and her husband, John Barton, of Austin, TX, Kelly Grill, of Brooklyn, NY, and Kathleen Senior and her husband, James, of Charlotte, NC; one granddaughter, Rhys Williams; four nieces, Kady, Rebecca, Ramona and Anna; and his grand-nephews Jonathan and Milo.

The family would appreciate contributions to Shiba Inu Rescue of New Jersey, Toms River NJ 08753.  They rescued his good friend Freddie.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
