Dolores P. Miller, 93, of Zephyrhills, FL, formerly of Watsontown, died Saturday, September 21, 2024 at American House Zephyrhills, where she had lived since 2015.
Born October 2, 1930 in Washington, PA, she was a daughter of the late R. Samuel and Florence Isabel (Emery) Pauling. On June 30, 1967 she married Donald Miller. Together they celebrated 27 years of marriage before his death June 27, 1994.
Dolores was a 1949 graduate of Muncy High School. She worked as a nurse’s aide and later a physical therapy aide at Muncy Valley hospital for 46 years. Her nickname, while working at the hospital and around community was "Blondie" but to her family she was known affectionately as “Aunt Dee”.
Earlier in life, she attended St. John’s Lutheran Brick Church, Montgomery, where she and her husband were married.
Dolores was an avid bowler.
Surviving are a step son, David Miller, of Lewisburg; brother-in-law, David J. Smith, of Zephyrhills, FL; three nieces, Susan Pauling Dyer, of Ashton, Ontario, Canada, Joanne Pauling, of Muncy and Gail Carlson Parker, of Epsom, Surrey, England; two nephews, Wayne Pauling, of Hughesville and Larry Pauling, of Williamsport; two grandnieces, five grandnephews; four great-grandnieces and one great-grandnephew.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a brother, L. Elwood Pauling; two sisters, Betty Pauling Smith and Eleanor Pauling Carlson and a nephew, Byron Calson.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 am on Thursday, October 3 at Grenoble Funeral Home & Crematory, 308 Main St. Watsontown, where the funeral will be held at 11a.m. with Rev. James R. Ritter, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Watsontown Cemetery.
