Dolores J. “Dee Dee” Storer, 81, of Lewisburg, passed away peacefully on Friday, Aug. 22, 2014, at RiverWoods.

She was born Aug. 23, 1932, in Washington Court House, Ohio, the daughter of the late Richard and Lillian (Cox) Jacobs. On Aug. 25, 1950, she married Donald W. Storer. Together they celebrated a marital union of 61 years before his death Sept. 16, 2011

.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish, Lewisburg.

Dee Dee was involved in numerous Lewisburg organizations; in 1976 she was co-founder of Birthright, which later moved to the current location in Sunbury, she was a member of the Lewisburg Arts Council, was president of the Civic Club before it dissolved and was very politically active with the Democratic party. An avid bridge player, she was the founder of the current daytime bridge-a-thon for the Union County Library and enjoyed teaching bridge to many people over the years.

Dee Dee loved to go to all the Bucknell Bison basketball games and enjoyed the local high school sporting and musical activities, especially those including her children and grandchildren. She was also fond of the summer music in the park.

Surviving are six children, Lana Snyder and Michael Storer, both of Lewisburg, Tim and Jila Storer, of Richland, Wash., M. Teresa Storer, of Lewisburg, Joseph Storer and his fiancé Joanne Wagner, of Selinsgrove, and Susan and Ed Cox, of Lewisburg; six grandchildren, Matthew Snyder, of Beavertown, Mark Snyder and his fiance Wing Poon, of San Francisco, Calif., Rachel Storer, of Mechanicsburg, Lindsey Cox, of Lewisburg, and Sydney and Logan Storer, of Winfield; and two great-grandchildren, Joshua Kurtz and Ashley Kurtz.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Richard and Lawrence Jacobs.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014, at Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, South Second and St. Louis streets, Lewisburg, where a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., with Deacon Richard Owen officiating.
