Dorothy Mae Hess

Dorothy Mae Hess, 91, formerly of Muncy, passed away Friday, March 7, 2025 at Valley Nursing Home & Rehab Center, Montoursville.

Born August 19, 1933 in Muncy, she was a daughter of the late Edgar and Mary (Miller) Spring. On July 10, 1951, she married John E. “Jack” Hess who preceded her in death December 25, 2020. Together they celebrated 69 years of marriage.

Dorothy graduated from Muncy High School. She spent her life as a homemaker caring for her family.

She enjoyed camping trips at Nittany Mountain and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Surviving are two sons, Charles Hess and his wife, Victoria, of Muncy and Bill Hess and his wife, Patty, of Hughesville; seven grandchildren, Brian, Adam, Amber, Sara, Eric, Nathan and Mitchell; and 16 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, March 13 in Muncy Cemetery.
