Douglas J. “Doug” Kinney, 66, of Montgomery, died on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at UPMC Williamsport.
Born September 11, 1957, in Muncy, he was a son of the late Floyd and Lois (Warner) Kinney. On May 14, 1978, he married the former Pamela Hans, who survives. Together they celebrated 46 years of marriage.
Doug was a 1975 graduate of Montgomery High School. He formerly worked as a delivery truck driver and later retired from White Deer Run.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Montgomery.
Doug was a lifetime member of the Allenwood Fire Company and current member of the Clinton Township Fire Company, where in total he served over 45 years at both.
He was a self taught mechanic that loved working on vehicles, especially Dodges. Doug was also a collector of model cars and enjoyed a good evening on the porch watching the planes fly by. Most importantly, he cherished his family and loved attending his grandchildren’s activities.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Jill Bierly and her husband, Cory, and Amber Kinney, all of Montgomery; a bonus daughter, Evalina Foster, of Lock Haven; three sisters, Linda Sue Blaker, of Montoursville, Melody Hollenbach, of Allenwood, and Lissa Kinney, of Montgomery; and four grandchildren, Molly and Callie Bierly, and McKenna and Miranda Robbins.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one sister, Kay Kinney; one brother, Floyd “Bud” Kinney; one grandson, Noah Bierly; and two brothers-in-law, John Blaker and Ken Hollenbach.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4 at Grenoble Funeral Home & Crematory, 308 Main St. Watsontown, where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 5 with Pastor Rick Lucas, officiating.
Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Montgomery.
