Earl Dantonio

Earl Dantonio, 86, of Allenwood, died Sunday, September 27, 2015 at Riverwoods, Lewisburg

He was born September 16, 1929 in New York City, a son of the late Louis A. Sr. and Maude (Bower) Dantonio. On March 10, 1956 he married the former Roseanna Staggert, who survives. Together they celebrated 59 years of marriage.

Earl attended Montgomery School’s and later served honorably in the United States Army.  He retired as an Aviation Mechanic from the former Avco, now Textron, Williamsport.

He was a member of the Clinton Baptist Church, Montgomery.

Earl was also a member of the Edward J. Smith Post 3428 V.F.W., and a former member of the Roland Ritter American Legion Post 268, both of Muncy.

He loved the outdoors, especially fishing, hunting and trapping.  Earl also enjoyed winemaking, gardening and racing.  He was an excellent mechanic and was always fixing anything thrown his way.

Surviving in addition to his wife are four children, Gary Dantonio and his wife, Jane, of Williamsport, Tod Dantonio, of Lake Ridge, VA, Sherry Dantonio and her husband, Derek Johnson, of Seattle, WA, and Scott Dantonio Sr. and his wife, Christine, of Allenwood; one brother, Louis Dantonio Jr. and his wife, Betty, of Elimsport; two sisters, Gloria Burrows and her husband, Harry, and June Engle, all of Elimsport; four grandchildren, Alicia, Scott, Shauna and Bethany Dantonio; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, William Dantonio; one granddaughter, Haley Nicole Dantonio; and one brother-in-law, George Engle.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, where the funeral will be held at Noon Thursday, with his pastor, the Rev. David Jacobs, officiating.

Burial with full military honors will follow in Elimsport Cemetery.

The family welcomes flowers, however, if desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Clinton Baptist Church, 60 Warren St., Montgomery, PA 17752.
