Edith Mae Moyer, 82, of Watsontown, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 30, 2016, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
She was born February 1, 1934 in Alvira, Gregg Twp., a daughter of the late John and Hattie (Reaser) Moyer.
Edith was a graduate of Watsontown High School. She worked for many years at the former Acme Markets, now Lingle's, Watsontown.
She was a current member of the Watsontown United Methodist Church, and former member of the First Lutheran Church, Watsontown where she taught Sunday School for many years.
Edith was a member of the McEwensville Garden Club as she had a passion for gardening and flowers. She was a former member of the Watsontown Election Board and volunteered with Neighbors Helping Neighbors.
Edith was also well known for her many crafts. She enjoyed travelling to craft shows to display and sell her work.
Surviving are 11 nieces and nephews, Kay Heim, John Styer, Jim Styer, John Murray, Richard Murray, Darlene Kiefer, Michael Moyer, Todd Moyer, Kathy Cromley, Steve Bennage and David Bennage; and numerous great, great-great and great-great-great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by three sisters, Mary Styer, Grace Murray and Wanda "Dolly" Bennage; two brothers, George and Robert Moyer; and one nephew, Tommy Bennage.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Watsontown United Methodist Church, 1319 8th Street Drive, Watsontown, followed by the funeral at 11, with her pastor, the Rev. Ryan Krauss, officiating.
Burial will follow in Elimsport Cemetery.
