Edward James Dewalt, 96, of 902 McNett Rd., Montgomery, died Monday, March 2, 2015 at the home of his sister.
Born June 7, 1918 in Montgomery, he was a son of the late Jesse and Bessie (Canada) Dewalt.
Edward worked for PennDOT for 27 years. In his spare time he enjoyed painting and crop farming on the family farm. He also dug graves for many years at the St. John Lutheran “Brick” Church Cemetery.
Edward was an avid fan of Penn State and the New York Yankees.
Surviving are a sister, Alberta Pysher, of Montgomery; a brother and sister-in-law, Lehman and Peggy Dewalt, of Montgomery; a companion, Emma Kropp, of South Williamsport; a nephew who resided with him, Donnie Edwards, of Montgomery; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by five brothers and five sisters.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, where the funeral will be held at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Viking Dietrich, pastor of St. John Lutheran “Brick” Church, officiating.
Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery, Montgomery.
