Edward Emerson "Ned" Thomas Jr.

Edward Emerson “Ned” Thomas, Jr., 81, loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather, died Thursday, September 17, 2020 at Heritage Springs Memory Care, Lewisburg, PA.

Ned was born on April 14, 1939 in Baltimore, MD, the son of the late Edward E. Thomas, Sr. and Doris (Jackson) Gibson.

Ned was a graduate of Towson High School in Towson, MD and attended the University of Maryland. He worked for Bethlehem Steel, retiring after 50 years.

He attended the Community Alliance Church in Bloomsburg, PA, pastored by Pastor Jay Olivo.

Surviving are his children, Douglas Scott Thomas, Sr., of Wilson, NC, Mark Christopher Thomas, Sr., of Stillwater, PA, Edward Emerson Thomas III, of Wilson, NC, and Rachel Shilow Thomas, of Baltimore, MD; two sisters, Elizabeth Bossle and Anne Rupprecht, both of Timonium, MD; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

For his whole life, Ned collected guns and enjoyed working on and driving hotrods. He was an avid photographer, able to capture sensitive moments that meant so much to him.  Those moments will forever be remembered.  He was loved by all who met him and he made a long and lasting impact on those close to him. He loved to laugh and to make people laugh. He cared deeply about his family and they will always remember his strong hugs and his affectionate winks.

The family is being assisted by Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 106 S. Second St., Lewisburg.
