Edward "Ed" Larry Kline

Edward (Ed) Larry Kline, 81, of New Columbia, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2024 at Watsontown Nursing and Rehab.

He was born on July 16, 1943 in Far Rockaway, New York, a son of the late Floyd and Lucille (Sutherland) Kline. He married Marilyn (Mitch) Kline on January 1, 1965 and together they celebrated 59 years of marriage.

Ed was a 1961 graduate of Lewisburg High School and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a truck driver most of his life.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 71, Milton.

Ed enjoyed wood working and having coffee with friends, which then turned into lunch with his classmates every first Tuesday of the month.   As his health started declining, he was unable to attend, but they still came to visit him.

He also enjoyed watching “old” silent and black and white movies.

Ed loved his grandchildren and enjoyed watching them play sports when they were younger.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his brother and sister-in-law, Alan and Carol Kline, of Newport, son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Gale Kline, of Selinsgrove, daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Daryn James, of New Columbia, four grandchildren, Jeremy Hendricks and Morgan Walters, of Danville, Riley and Ryan Hoy, of Milton, Justin and Laura Kline, of Milton, Jessica and Curtis Gemberling, of Northumberland and six great-grandchildren, Fiona, Kaydon, Jaxon, Brock, Brodie and Lucas.

Friends and family will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 31 at Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, South Second and St. Louis Streets, Lewisburg

Burial with full military honors will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, August 1 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to a Veterans organization of one’s choice.
