Egbert "Eggie" P. Hall Jr.

Egbert “Eggie” P. Hall, Jr., 97, formerly of 113 New Street, Muncy, passed away peacefully Monday, December 16, 2019.

He was born May 13, 1922 in the Williamsport Hospital, a son of the late Egbert P. and Catherine (Rupert) Hall. Eggie married the former Frances Shipman. Together they celebrated 66 years of marriage, before her death July 31, 2013.

He was a WWII army veteran, serving as a combat infantryman in the Pacific Theater, reaching the rank of captain. Eggie retired in 1984 from Sprout Waldron, now Andritz, where he worked as manager of accounting for 44 years and was a member of the Quarter Century Club.

He was a long time former member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Clarkstown.

Eggie was a member of the Roland Ritter American Legion Post 268, Muncy.

An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing, ice skating and gardening. Eggie especially enjoyed the time he spent at the Hall Cabin on Lake Makoma from 1932 to the present.

Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Anita and David Kay, of Ocean View, DE and Christine and Ken Cramer, of Enola; one son and daughter-in-law, Bryce and Jeanne Hall, of Ridgeway; one brother and sister-in-law, John L. and Carol Hall, of Girdwood, AK; two sisters Margaret Markowitz, of Folsom and Dorothy Whitmire, of Lakewood, NY; three grandchildren, Mac and Stacy Bruker, Brianne and Josh Beebe and Loren and Katherine Hall and one great-grandchild, Duncan Beebe.

In addition to his parents and wife, Eggie was predeceased by one sister Rita Dugan and one brother in infancy, Paul Hall.

Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main Street, Muncy.

A private graveside committal service will be held in the Muncy Cemetery.

The family will provide the flowers, however, if desired memorial contributions in Eggie’s name can be made to either the Muncy Public Library, 108 S. Main St., Muncy, PA 17756 or Messiah Lutheran Church, 2041 State Route 442, Muncy, PA 17756.
