Emily M. Gottschall, 84, of Watsontown, passed away Monday, April 22, 2019 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
She was born October 10, 1934 in rural Turbotville, a daughter of the late Ralph and Kathryn (Aunkst) Crawford. On November 11, 1961 she married Richard C. Gottschall, who preceded her in death February 7, 2012. Together they celebrated 50 years of marriage.
Emily attended Watsontown School’s. She worked for several years at the former Montgomery Mills, before getting married and raising her family.
Emily was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Turbotville.
Earlier in life she enjoyed taking walks, completing word search books and traveling with her husband. Emily also loved the company of her dog, Lilly.
Surviving are three children, Deborah Gottschall, Richard Gottschall Jr. and Rodney Gottschall, all of Watsontown; one brother, Walter Crawford and his wife, Marvene, of Turbotville; six sisters, Lena Hall, Nancy Rice, and Beverly Heverly and her husband, Roland, all of Watsontown; Miriam Neufer, of Clarkstown, Margaret Miller, of Hughesville, and Mildred Yoder and her husband, Barry, of Lock Haven; one brother-in-law, Donald Gottschall and his wife, Connie, of Watsontown; two grandchildren, Mark Catherman and Melissa Vasquez; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by one daughter, Cathy “Marie” Gottschall; and five siblings, Marlin Crawford, Gene Crawford, Isabel Crawford, Marian Hall and one in infancy.
Friends will be received from 11 am. to Noon on Thursday at Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 308 Main Street, Watsontown, where the funeral will be held at Noon with her pastor, Rev. Irwin Roux, officiating.
Burial will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery.
The family will provide the flowers, however, if desired, contributions in Emily’s memory may be made to Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 39 Paradise St., Turbotville, PA 17772.
