Ethel L. Hursh

Ethel L. Hursh, 86, of Watsontown, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at RiverWoods, Lewisburg.
She was born December 6, 1929 in Watsontown, a daughter of the late Henry F. and Catherine (Pfleegor) Houtz. She and her husband, Nathan L. Hursh, were married 46 years before his death Sep. 26, 1998.
Ethel was a 1948 graduate of Watsontown High School.
An avid walker, she was well known around town. Ethel was also beloved for her work as a seamstress, taking time to deliver the items when they were finished. She loved traveling with her husband, riding her bicycle and attending class functions and reunions.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Terrie L. and Ted Rogers, of Mt. Sterling, OH and Viola and Tim Ranck, of Watsontown; four grandchildren, Jessica Olsheski, Nathan Johnson, Craig Ranck and Aidan Ranck; and five great-grandchildren, Ani, Isaak, Alec, Garrett and Corbynn.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by three sisters, Gladys Jennings, Kathryn Grey and Cecilia Houtz; and two brothers, Donald Houtz and Marlin Houtz.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, at the Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 308 Main St., Watsontown, where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. Ryan Krauss, pastor of Watsontown United Methodist Church.
Burial will follow in the Watsontown Cemetery.
