Evelyn C. Klusmeyer, 85, of 757 Gardner Road, Unityville, was called home on May 13, 2016, peacefully at her home surrounded by loved ones.
Born May 7, 1931 in Singapore, she was a daughter of the late Capt. Hugh and Elsie (Mordue) Lynes. On April 4, 1954 she married Vincent C. Klusmeyer, whom she had known since they were 8 years old, just recently celebrating 62 years of marriage. He survives her.
Living most of her life in Long Island, NY, she was the “neighborhood mom”. Evelyn enjoyed spending time with her husband and family on their boat in Long Island. She loved horseback riding, her animals, gardening and spent years volunteering for the Friends of Animals helping a countless number of cats. When Evelyn Moved to Pennsylvania she worked a number of years at Manor Care and after retiring at 79, loved to go to lunch with the friends she made there. She was a wonderful, kind person who was full of life and had tons of stories to tell. Evelyn will be missed tremendously.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Patty and Tom Sanguedolce, of Muncy and Chris Cowne, of Unityville; one sister, Rose Tucker, of Winter Garden, FL; three grandchildren, Nicholas Zazzi, Anthony (Cristina) Zazzi and Evelyn Hill; one step granddaughter, Dawn Sanguedolce and two great grandchildren, Jackson and Ava Sophia Zazzi.
In addition to her parents, Evelyn is preceded in death by one sister, Hillary Branch; one daughter Evelyn Hill and one step grandson, Thomas Sanguedolce Jr.
The family is planning a memorial service which will be announced at a later date.
