Evelyn M. O’Brien, 87, of 409 Sherman St. Ext., Muncy, died Saturday, March 28, 2015 at the Muncy Valley Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit.

Born September 3, 1927 in Elmira, New York, she was a daughter of the late Carson and Edith (Lamoreaux) Price. On January 1, 1946 she married Calvin F. O’Brien, Sr., who preceded her in death January 19, 2006. Together they celebrated 60 years of marriage.

Evelyn enjoyed being a homemaker, raising her children and taking care of her family. She worked as an organizer for the American Rescue Workers, Williamsport, until retiring in 2011.

Evelyn was a member of the former First Friends Church, Loyalsock.

In her spare time, she loved refurbishing dolls that were sold at the American Rescue Workers store.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Calvin F. O’Brien, Jr. and Patty O’Brien, of Bloomsburg; two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Scott Harper, of Muncy and Jo and David Davis, of Macungie; a daughter-in-law, Evelyn O’Brien, of Ponchatoula, LA; a brother, Daryl Price, of Cogan Station; a sister, Elouse Harvey, of Trout Run; six grandchildren, Seann C. O’Brien, Stephenie Morgan, Eric P. O’Brien, Major Matthew B. Davis, Bradley B. Davis and Melissa S. Skoog; and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, David O’Brien; two brothers; three sisters; and a great-grandson, Andrew Skoog.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to noon, Wednesday, at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, where the funeral will be held at noon. Officiating will be Pastor Sam Astin III, of the American Rescue Workers Church.

Burial will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Rescue Workers, 333 Rose St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
