Evelyn E. Wood

Evelyn E. Wood, 95, a resident of Pennsdale since 1951, died Thursday, October 15, 2015 at the Williamsport Home Hospice.

Born November 22, 1919 in Williamsport, PA, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Grace (Frederick) Killam. She and her husband, Ralph Wood, were married in Newberry, PA, on August 4, 1941 and celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary on August 4, 2009.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph Wood, 94, on April 3, 2010, an infant son, Sidney, two sisters and one brother. She was a Williamsport High School graduate, class of 1937, worked at SS Kresge (Williamsport), and Sylvania (Montoursville). She was a homemaker, a very good cook, a baker, and a seamstress. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Pennsdale, enjoyed reading, and doing word search puzzles.

Surviving are a daughter, Nan E. Wood, of Avis; three sons, Mark I. (Ann) Wood and Michael L. (Gail) Wood, all of Muncy, and Lindsay K. (Norma) Wood, of Williamsport; seven grandchildren, Eric L. (Stacey) Wood, of Damascus, MD, Amie R. (Jeff) Porter, of South Williamsport, Vicki (Dave) Chesney, of Trout Run, Kay Barkley, of Hughesville, Gale (Brian) Healy, of Muncy, James Moore III, of New Jersey and Michael Moore, of Harrisburg, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Five great-grandchildren, Emma and Ella Wood, of Damascus, MD, Anna Sholtis, of Williamsport, Adam Sholtis, of Tamaqua and Angela (Elmer) Foltz, of Allenwood. Two great-great-grandchildren, Courtney Foltz, United States Navy, of Norfolk, VA, and Evan Sholtis, of Tamaqua.

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Interment will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Williamsport.
