Evelyn J. “Evy” Pentz, 85, of Montgomery, died Saturday, May 25, 2024 at the Gatehouse, Williamsport.
Born July 31, 1938 in Montgomery, she was a daughter of the late Chester M. Sr. and Althea M. (Karschner) Beaver. On November 21, 1966, she married Donald D. Pentz, who survives. Together they celebrated 57 years of marriage.
Evy attended Montgomery Schools. She worked for the former JC Decker for 30 years until its closing. Evy then worked for West Company until her retirement.
She was a member of St John’s Lutheran “Brick” Church, Montgomery.
Evy enjoyed playing cards, camping and spending time at their river lot. She and her husband loved wintering in Florida, spending 28 winters there.
Most importantly, she cherished spending time with her family, including her grandchildren.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a daughter, Candace “Candy” Gordner and her husband, Don, of Montgomery; two grandchildren, Donald Gordner Jr, of Montgomery and Brent Gordner and his wife, Kara, of Muncy; and two great-grandchildren, Chloe and Dustin Gordner, of TX.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by four children, Darlene and Kathy Starr, Holly Ann Pentz and Donald Pentz, Jr. and five brothers, Cleon, Chester, Jr., Rolley, Richard and Willis Beaver and three sisters, Patsy Marsiglia, Althea DeWire and Genevieve Heimbach.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, May 31, at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. with Rev. James Pentz, officiating.
Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Montgomery.
