Fred C. Barrett, 56, of 306 W. Southern Ave., South Williamsport, died Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at his home surrounded by family and friends.
Born August 1, 1958 in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Wray E. and Carole M. (Miller) Barrett. On April 26, 2006 he married the former Bonnie Boatman, who survives. They were together for 22 years, married for nine.
Fred attended South Williamsport High School. He worked many years as a truck driver, most recently doing deliveries for Susquehanna Paper.
He was a former member of the VFW Post 7863, Duboistown.
Fred was an avid sports fan and liked to watch NASCAR, football and golf. He loved camping and spending time at his lot, “The Land”, on Loyalsock Creek. Most importantly, Fred enjoyed playing with his grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Ashley Bastian, of Duboistown and Branden and Kayla Barrett, of S. Williamsport; one daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Cory Brown, of Ralston; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Doug and Sandy Barrett, of S. Williamsport, Craig and Gwen Barrett, of Newberry, and Wray “Scott” Barrett, of Linden; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Cheri and Mark Hessert, of Greenville, NC and Kellie Whipple, of Jersey Shore; nine grandchildren, Cheyenne, Dominic, Blake, Savannah, Ethan, Channing, Summer, Grayson and Connor.
In keeping with Fred’s wishes, there will be no visitation.
The family is planning a celebration of life service to be announced at a later date.
The family suggests memorial contributions in Fred’s name be made to the American Cancer Society, Lycoming Unit, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
The family is being assisted by Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy.
