Gary “Maylo” L. Mayer, 56, of 8168 Pleasant Valley Rd., Cogan Station, died Saturday, December 6, 2014 at his home.

Born July 11, 1958 in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Charles David Mayer and Arlene (Catherman) Mayer, of Montgomery. On April 19, 2002 he married the former Linda Lundy, who survives. Together they celebrated 12 years of marriage.

Maylo was a 1976 graduate of Williamsport High School.  He graduated from Pennsylvania College of Technology, Williamsport and worked many years as a Supervisor for PMF Industries, Williamsport.

He was a member of East End Baptist Church, Williamsport.

Maylo enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.  He also loved watching NASCAR and football.

Surviving in addition to his mother and wife are one son, John Easton, of Cogan Station; one daughter, Dawn Easton, of Williamsport; one brother and sister-in-law, Charles H. and Cindy Mayer, of Cogan Station; one sister and brother-in-law, Crystal and Michael Hite, of Montgomery; four grandchildren, Brittany and Tyler Green, and Gloria and Gracelynn Easton; one great-granddaughter, Marlaynna Wilson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he was predeceased by a niece, Mindy Mayer.

The family is planning a Celebration of Life Service to be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the UAW Local 787 (Union Hall), 656 Lloyd St., Williamsport (near Textron Lycoming).

The family suggests contributions in Gary’s memory be made to the American Cancer Society, Lycoming Unit, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
