George B. Silverman

George B. Silverman, 71, of 110 Foster J. Smith Rd., Lewisburg, died Sunday, May 4, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born October 14, 1942 in Lewisburg, a son of the late George A. and Ethel (Krouse) Silverman. On September 18, 1964 he married the former Jean Ryder, who preceded him in death March 25, 2009. Together they celebrated 44 years of marriage.

He worked at the former Philco-Ford, Watsontown and retired as a security guard from Burns Security, Williamsport.

George served in the United States Army.

He was a paid up for life member of the Kratzer-Dull American Legion Post #182, Lewisburg.  George enjoyed going to shooting ranges and reloading his own ammunition.  He attended many tractor and truck pulls and most importantly, loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, George C. and Michele Silverman, of Lewisburg; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy J. and Ralph Boyd, of Selinsgrove and Rebecca R. Silverman and Scott Ranck, of Watsontown; seven grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Friends will be received from Noon to 1 p.m.., Wednesday, May 7 at Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 106 S. Second St., Lewisburg, PA 17837, where a Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. with Pastor Ricky Phillips, Evangelical Hospice Chaplain, officiating.

Burial with full military honors will follow in Mazeppa Union Cemetery.
