George M. Snyder Jr.

George M. Snyder Jr., 77, of Muncy, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2022 at home with his family by his side.

He was born on March 29, 1945 in Doylestown, a son of the late George Sr. and Emma (Whitman) Snyder.  On August 14, 1965 he married the former Jo Hunsberger, who survives.  Together they celebrated 56 years of marriage.

George was a 1963 graduate of Souderton Area High School.  He owned a Texaco gas station and mower repair shop for 12 years, and later worked in maintenance for several employers.

George was an owner and driver for Saab stock car.  He enjoyed racing at tracks in Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey.

He was an avid Nascar fan and loved to hunt, fish and farm.  Most importantly, he cherished time spent with his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, George III and Trish Snyder, of Perkasie; one daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Ron Kelly, of Sellersville; six grandchildren, George IV, Kyle, Ian, Tyler, Chris and Kaitlyn; three great-grandchildren, Beau, Avery and Layla; and three brothers and three sisters.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Danny.

In keeping with George’s wishes, there will be no services.
